The Wreck Diving course is for divers interested in learning practical skills involved in wreck diving. You will need to be able to safely conduct a direct ascent to the surface at any point in a dive, as the course includes diving the exterior of a wreck.
To enrol on the Wreck Diving course you must have already successfully completed a Sports Diver course or Advanced Open Water from another recognised training agency.
On this two-day course you will learn how to plan a non-penetration wreck dive and carry out the plan. You will learn about types of wrecks and wreck law, and about the equipment needed for wreck diving and how to use it, including vital line-laying skills.
The course consists of three theory sessions, two dry practical sessions – one on line laying and one on dive planning – a confined water session and two open-water dives to a maximum depth of 25mtr, ensuring you spend an hour or more underwater practicing your skills. With my help you will be able to apply your new knowledge and techniques to safely navigate around a wreck on the dives.
This is a continually assessed course during which students must reach the required performance standards.
The Wreck Diving course is the start of your wreck diving journey, providing basic knowledge to enable safe wreck diving on no-stop dives within the limits of your personal diving qualification. You will be able to build on your wreck diving skills on future dives and promote safe, responsible and enjoyable wreck diving in your club.
