Altitude Diving

Altitude Diving in Red Tarn

An awesome development in your diving. Some locations on the planet are not at sea level, and learning how to compensate for this is important. Combining my vast knowledge of mountaineering at altitude mixed with my love of diving and I can offer you the perfect mix.

This isn’t just another course to me, I’m passionate about climbing high to dive low. Join me on one of my altitude adventures and achieve your SDI altitude course at the same time.

The purpose of the SDI Altitude Diver Course is to acquaint you with the necessary procedures and knowledge to dive safely at altitudes of at least 300 metres/1000 feet above sea level. In addition, recently I wrote up a blog article for SDI international website which is here.

I run this course all around the UK and abroad, so am more than happy to facilitate the course anywhere to suit you. In the UK the most popular locations are as below and you can follow the links to book on a dive if you wish;

Here’s a video of the altitude dive at Red Tarn, filmed over the summer of 2020;

I am a passionate adventurer, loving being in the mountains walking, climbing, scrambling as much as I love being under the water exploring shipwrecks, mines and caverns, or in search of treasure in the depths. I am a Mountain Instructor (MIA), a Winter Mountain Leader, a Scuba Diving Instructor (BSAC, TDI, SDI, IANTD), a skipper for CAT3 waters up to 25mtr and as I’ve built this experience over time, I have written about it and published those works. In addition I am a Chartered Manager with CILT, a member of the institute of Engineering & Technology, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. I help people fulfill their goals in the Mountains (Worldwide), Scuba Diving (Worldwide), provide location support worldwide for the media and assist with technical and safety support whenever requested.
