Adventures with Mark Vol 25

Adventures with Mark Vol 25. This was a good week – I’ve been helping develop a dive leader and focus on dive management and dive planning in adventurous and exploratory diving situations.

We spent some time refreshing rescue skills at Vobster Quay, then a day in Cosmeston lakes near Cardiff perfecting some skills. Then a days altitude diving in Keepers Pond followed by an exploratory trip to Tirpentwys Quarry also known as the Canyons, which is potentially going to be a location for the new Disney + series of Willow.

Then we had a day in Oxwich bay where I had a student who had prepared a dive plan but forgot to consider tides…

Then I had my first weekend off for a while so we had a family weekend at Legoland Discovery Centre in Birmingham, an afternoon at the National SeaLife centre followed by a day with my sister and her family at Warwick Castle.

I am a passionate adventurer, loving being in the mountains walking, climbing, scrambling as much as I love being under the water exploring shipwrecks, mines and caverns, or in search of treasure in the depths. My real passion lies in combining mountains and water and as such you’ll often find me either in the mountains altitude diving, or in the mountains ice diving. Both exhilarating and peaceful – allowing me to regenerate the inner me, whilst pushing myself physically and mentally.

  1. Cosmeston in “Cardiff”? As far as I am aware, they havent moved Cosmeston Lakes to Cardiff yet? Try Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan mate….
