The last few days have been pretty manic finishing off a load of stuff on Scavenger Dive Boat, however the collective effort paid off and by the end of the day on Friday we were done. It was all hands literally on deck to get there, Laura, Andy, Ed and Joshua pulled together as a great team to get us there.
The boat has now been repainted, new safety rails all around, four new bilge pumps, new electrics, new life buoys, new life jackets plus loads more. No way I could have achieved it alone so extremely grateful for the team effort that made it happen.
The weather has turned and this morning was misty and drizzling. However with a 9am ropes off from Milford we were away for the day.
A great bunch onboard doing their dive leader dives so looking for a shake out day as for some it’s the first time for a while since they’d been in the water.
First dive was on Thor, a wreck in approximately 25mtr at high tide, everyone had a great dive and smiles were obvious once on the surface.
We headed into Castlebeach bay for a surface interval where some of the guys jumped in to practice Controlled Buoyant Lifts and some rescue tows etc.
After lunch we moved onto the Dakotian wreck where some more skills were carried out by some, whilst the others just enjoyed diving the wreck.
The wind stayed good and it brightened up a bit in the afternoon, although the mist did stay for most of the day, albeit in varying thickness.
A good first day at sea 😊
